What are the rules for the Standard 1-Step account?

Standard 1-Step Account Rules

Maven's Standard 1-Step challenge is a one-phase evaluation. Pass a single phase to receive a funded account.

Evaluation Overview

  • Phases: 1 (one-step evaluation)
  • Profit Target (Phase 1): 8% of the initial balance
  • Minimum Trading Days: None
  • Maximum Trading Days: Unlimited
  • Consistency Rule: No
  • Profit Split: 80%
  • Payout Frequency: Every 10 business days

Drawdown Limits

  • Max Drawdown: 5% trailing (based on highest equity watermark)
  • Daily Drawdown: 3% (based on the higher of your equity or balance at 00:00 UTC)

The trailing drawdown continues to trail as your equity increases. It does not lock or reset until after a payout.

Trading Style Rules

No Consistency Rule

The Standard 1-Step account does not have a consistency rule or minimum profitable day requirement.

Excessive Scalping

More than 50% of your trades cannot be held for less than 1 minute (60 seconds). Trade count is assessed at payout request.

News Trading

You cannot open or close trades within 2 minutes before or after a red folder news event. This restriction applies to trades opened prior to the news window as well — including limit orders, take-profit, break-even, or pending orders that execute during the restricted window.

Example: If news is released at 2:30 PM, you cannot open or close trades between 2:28 PM and 2:32 PM. A trade opened one hour before must be closed by 2:27 PM or after 2:33 PM.

Penalties:

  • Challenge account: Violating the news trading rule results in a failed evaluation. All open trades are closed and account access is revoked. In some cases, a one-time free retry may be offered as a goodwill gesture — contact support to inquire.
  • Funded account: Profits generated within the restricted window will be deducted from your account balance.
