Troubleshooting Invalid Login Credentials for MetaTrader 5

Troubleshooting Invalid Login Credentials for MetaTrader 5

If you're experiencing invalid login credentials or "No connection—Authorization Error" when accessing your funded trading account through MetaTrader 5, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Step 1: Verify You're Using the Correct Server

When adding your account to MetaTrader 5, ensure you select the correct server:

  • Server name: MavenTrade

If you select the wrong server, your credentials will be rejected. Make sure you're connecting to the correct Maven server.

Step 2: Check Your Login Credentials

Your account details were provided in your email. Verify the following:

  • Account Number: This is your login ID
  • Password: Use your trading password (not the investor password)
  • Investor Password: This is read-only and should not be used for login

Important: Copy and Paste Correctly

When entering your password:

  • Include all symbols at the end of the password (examples: /, =)
  • Do not manually type the password if possible—copy and paste directly from your email to avoid typos
  • Some passwords contain special characters that may appear as * in certain displays, but you must enter the actual character

Step 3: Type the Password Correctly

A common issue is assuming that * symbols in the password field mean you need to type something different. The password field shows * as you type for security purposes, but you should enter the exact password provided to you, including all special characters.

Step 4: Try Alternative Connection Methods

If you continue experiencing connection issues:

  1. Try a different network: If using WiFi, attempt connecting via mobile data (4G/LTE) or vice versa
  2. Use a different device: Try accessing MetaTrader on a PC or different phone
  3. Use a VPN: Some users have reported success using a VPN connection

Step 5: Reinstall MetaTrader 5

If none of the above steps work:

  1. Uninstall MetaTrader 5 completely from your device
  2. Download and reinstall the latest version:
  1. When setting up the new installation, carefully enter your account details again

If You Don't Have Your Login Credentials

If you've lost your account login credentials:

  1. Contact Support and provide the email address registered to your account
  2. Support will resend your login details to your registered email
  3. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email in your inbox
  4. Once you receive your credentials, follow Steps 1-3 above

Persistent "Authorization Failed" After Account Reactivation

If your account was recently reactivated but MT5 still shows "Authorization Failed":

  • Make sure you are entering the trading account number (not your client ID) in the login field
  • Ensure the complete password is entered, including any special characters at the end (e.g., !, =)
  • Do not copy-paste if the last character is being cut off — type the password manually instead
  • If the error persists after confirming your credentials, contact support — a new account may be issued and the old one terminated; you will receive the new credentials by email

Using Your Account on Another Device

You can log into your MetaTrader account on another person's device or phone. However, you remain fully responsible for the security and activity of your account if you do so. Ensure the device is trusted and consider logging out when finished.

Still Having Issues?

If you continue to experience login problems after following these steps:

  • Double-check that you're using the correct server (MavenTrade-Server)
  • Verify all special characters in your password are entered correctly
  • Contact Maven Trading Support with your account number for further assistance

Note: If your account is under Match Trader (not MetaTrader), you'll need to log in via the Match Trader Manager instead.
