Standard vs. Instant Funded Accounts — Key Differences

Standard vs. Instant Funded Accounts — Key Differences

Maven offers two main account paths: Standard accounts and Instant Funded accounts. Here is how they compare across the most important criteria.

Account Access

Standard Accounts

Instant Funded Accounts

How to get funded

Pass an evaluation/challenge phase (1-Step, 2-Step, or 3-Step)

Funded immediately after purchase — no evaluation required

Account environment

Simulated funded account

Simulated funded account

Both account types operate in a demo/simulated environment. You are not trading with live funds.

Consistency Rule

  • Standard Accounts (1-Step, 2-Step, 3-Step): No consistency rule applies — either during the challenge phase or after becoming funded.
  • Instant Funded Accounts: A consistency rule applies at payout. A 20% consistency score and 3% withdrawal threshold are required for you to request a payout.

News Trading

  • Standard Accounts: A 2-minute restriction applies before and after any red folder news event. Trades opened or closed during this window are considered a violation.
  • Instant Funded Accounts: No news trading restrictions. You may trade freely during all news events.

Scalping Rule

Both account types share the same scalping restriction: more than 50% of your trades cannot be held for less than 1 minute (60 seconds). Total trade count is assessed at the time of payout request.

Maximum Capital Allocation

Across all funded accounts (Standard and Instant combined), the maximum total starting capital is $200,000. Traders may scale up to $1,000,000 through Maven's scaling program.

Scaling Program

Maven offers a scaling program available to all funded account holders. To qualify for a scale-up:

  • Generate at least 10% profit over 4 consecutive months (equivalent to 2.5% per month)
  • Process at least 1 payout per month during that period

Upon meeting these requirements, the account size is increased by 25%. The scaling feature is repeatable up to a maximum allocation of $1,000,000 and can be requested by emailing support@maventrading.com.
