# How to Log In to MT5 (MetaTrader 5)

# How to Log In to MT5 (MetaTrader 5)

Your MT5 login credentials (login number, password, and investor password) are sent to your email after purchase. If you can't find the email, check your spam/junk folder.

> **Important:** Always use your **trading password**, not the Investor Password. The Investor Password is read-only and will not allow you to place trades.

---

## MT5 Mobile App

1. Open the MT5 app and go to **Settings**
2. Tap **New Account**
3. Search for **MavenTrade Limited** and select it
4. Enter your login number and **copy-paste** the password

## MT5 Desktop

1. Go to **File** > **Open an Account**
2. In the broker name field, search for **MavenTrade Limited** and select it
3. Select **Connect with an Existing Account**
4. Enter your login number and type the password manually

## Common Login Issues

### "Authorization Failed" or "Invalid Account"
The most common cause is an incomplete password. Your password includes a special character or symbol at the end (e.g., `:`, `/`, `%`, `-`, `*`, `#`, `=`, or `+`). Make sure you copy and paste the full password, including any trailing symbol. If copy-pasting still fails, type the password manually to ensure no characters are dropped. If you're still getting an "Authorization Failed" error after entering the correct password, try the following:
- Clear the MT5 app data and log in again
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection
- Uninstall and reinstall the MT5 application

### Trade buttons are missing / cannot place trades
You may have logged in using the **Investor Password** instead of the trading password. Log out and sign back in using the correct trading password.

### Prompted for a One-Time Password (OTP)
If MT5 asks for an OTP, disregard that prompt and follow the standard login steps above using your login number and password.

### "No Connection" error
Make sure you have selected the correct server (**MavenTrade-Server**) and that the password is entered in full, including any special character at the end.

### Did not receive login credentials by email
Your credentials are sent automatically after payment. If you haven't received them, check your spam folder. If still missing, contact support with your account number and credentials can be resent.
