## Key Differences Explained

### Profit Targets
The 2-Step Standard has a higher Phase 1 target (8%) but a lower Phase 2 target (5%). The OMO flips this — a lower Phase 1 target (6%) but a higher Phase 2 target (8%).

### News Trading
* **2-Step Standard:** News trading is restricted during both the challenge and funded phases. Trades cannot be opened or closed within 2 minutes before or after a high-impact (red folder) news event.
* **2-Step OMO:** News trading is fully allowed in Phase 1 and Phase 2 with no restrictions. In the funded stage, news trading is still permitted, but profits from any single news event are capped at **0.50%** of account balance. For example, on a $100,000 account, the maximum profit counted from one news event is $500.

### Minimum Profitable Days
* **2-Step Standard:** 3 profitable days per phase (each day must generate at least 0.5% net profit).
* **2-Step OMO:** 4 profitable days per phase (same 0.5% daily minimum).

### Minimum Holding Time
* **2-Step Standard:** At least 50% of all trades must be held for over 60 seconds (excessive scalping rule).
* **2-Step OMO:** Every individual trade must be held for at least 150 seconds (2.5 minutes). Trades shorter than this do not count.

### Maximum Trading Days
* **2-Step Standard:** No time limit.
* **2-Step OMO:** 180 days across both evaluation phases combined. There is no separate deadline per phase.

### Max Open Risk
* **2-Step Standard:** No maximum open risk rule.
* **2-Step OMO:** Maximum open risk is capped at **2%** of account balance at any time. The M2 Account Saver is a built-in protection that activates when drawdown reaches 2% with open trades:
* **First Breach (Soft Breach):** All open trades are closed. On **funded accounts**, profit split is permanently reduced to 50%. On **challenge accounts**, trades are closed but the profit split penalty does **not** apply and does **not** carry over to the funded stage — the M2 Account Saver policy resets each phase.
* **Second Breach (Hard Breach):** All open trades are closed and the account is permanently deactivated.

## What They Share
* No Consistency Rule (applies only to Instant Funding, Instant Mini, and BNPL accounts)
* Same drawdown limits (4% daily, 8% maximum static)
* Same leverage across all asset classes
* Same payout frequency, profit split, minimum withdrawal, and refund policy
